ERADICATION OF POLIO?

The World Health Organization recently reported that the campaigns to eradicate polio, globally, are actually showing signs of improvement across many areas. The article states that so far $8.2 billion has been spent on eradicating polio, via vaccinations, throughout the world.

It is upsetting when people suffer so much from a disease that can easily be prevented with a vaccine, (especially one that has been around for so many years).

It is interesting to read this article about the rumors and distrust between leaders that prevented vaccinations from reaching many of the world's poor, not to mention the difficulty in determining the spread of the disease. It is also humbling to read about the risks and sacrifices the health workers make in order to prevent the spread of polio in poverty-stricken areas of the world.

Hopefully the trend will continue and the worldwide eradication of polio will be successful.

We had a man in our home a few months ago who thought the H1N1 vaccination was a government plot to somehow brainwash all of the citizens who submitted to it and put us under their control. He had read about the sinister plot on the web and wanted to give me some sites to check out. I was working in the hospital and had already been given the shot so I just told him it was too late for me. Some people have too much time on their hands.

Luv ya! AB
