2011 New Year's "Ideas"

I stopped making New Year's Resolutions after I had my third child. I used to love making resolutions. Now I don't even dare touch them.

But, a captive to my self-destructive, ever-aiming-for-betterment-insaneness, these are my "ideas" for 2011:

Wash the dishes before bed each night
Spend more one-on-one time with my kids
Read a new book each week
Experiment with more recipes, more types of food
Nourish friendships
Get really good at something

This is what these "ideas" will likely morph into within the first month:

Use more paper products
Let my kids take turns sleeping in our bed when my husband is on night call
Start a new book each week
Experience Costco's outdoor cafe menu more often
Call my mom and my sisters more often (I'm sure they are cringing as they read this)
I have no idea - I might have to take that one off the list...

I decided to lay low this year and try only one thing--spending freeze for one month. Cannot buy anything but food. Well let's just say we have eaten out a lot more. I guess I find ways to spend my money no matter what I do :)
