SCRAMBLING INTO A RESIDENCY SPOT

Tomorrow is the day that medical students across the United States will find out if they have matched for a residency spot upon graduating from medical school. I'm sure many students and their wives are having difficulty sleeping tonight!

Those students that receive an e-mail tomorrow stating that they have not matched will enter into the scramble, meaning they will have to try and scramble into a vacant residency spot. Sometimes there are available spots in the specialty that the student is hoping for, and they can squeeze into it with the help of the medical school director.  Sometimes students will opt to do an intern year, or work for a year (doing H&P's) and then reapply for a residency spot in the specific specialty they want.

Good luck to everyone who is waiting to find out this week where they matched (or if they matched tomorrow)!
