that Holiday on Monday

I meant to post this thought on Monday... but we have been distracted by snow storms, cancelled public schools, and the flu...

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Therefore, no American can afford to be apathetic about the problem of racial justice.” - Martin Luther King, Jr.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is one of my absolute favorite holidays.  My parents instilled in us a great respect and love for Martin Luther King, Jr. as well as an inner sensitivity to detect inequalities and a drive to make them right.  I think it's wonderful that we have to day to remember Dr. King and all that he stood for, and to be reminded to stand up and fight for racial equality whenever possible.
